2012 84th Annual Oscar Fashion
Tonight aired the 84th Annual Oscars and every hot and/or relevant actress was out in their most extravagant, thespian honoring attire. The usual designers were on the scene; Versace, Vera, Armani, Ferragamo and of course the late great Alexander McQueen. Some of the stars who wore the winning fashions were unusal fashion suspects.
Some of tonight's losers were off by a little or a lot! The winners hit the target right on the mark!
Lets just rip it off like a bandage...as beautiful Angeline Jolie is, she looked like someones sexy grandmother in the black velvet Atelier Versace gown. She did win with wearing minimal Neil Lane jewelry, bombshell makeup, voluptuous hair AND her sexy, gracefully aging arm candy; Brad "Delicious Ken" Pitt!
Rooney Mara wore a very cute Givinchey gown, unfortunately it didn't do her waif figure any justice. The gown is awkwardly beautiful which screams for attention, attention only a woman with curves, such as Sophia Vegara could provide....Sorry Rooney....
Hollywood royalty disappointed not only I but Meryl Streep lovers everywhere. The Lanvin dress Meryl wore looked less like courtour and more like "Willy Wonker and The Chocolate Factory" golden ticket paper. The draping was wrong and ill fitting on Streep. Her hair and makeup however were FABTABULOUS!
Gwenyth Paltrow looked odd walking the carpet in a Tom Ford white gown with cape? Was there a superhero movie being shot on the red carpet? Is she hiding a rash, new tattoo or sunburn? I guess we will never know. If only she pulled the cape off, threw some small modern princess cute diamond studs or delicate diamond chandeliers to compliment her lovely bracelet and rings, she would have been one of my winners!
Viola Davis looked GREAT in the emerald green Vera Wang gown. The new natural hair look she is wearing is not only liberating but inspiring to other African-American woman. Davis could have omitted the large pendant earrings. The rule is the smaller the hair, the bigger the earring, but one exception to the rule variables in color. The bold emerald green color was larger than life enough for her to downsize.
Three words for Mrs. Jennifer Lopez....HOT HOT HOT!. Though she doesn't boast too much on being "Jenny from the block" anymore, she sure will have every mans and woman's head turning withe the sexy form fitting Zuhair Murad gown and sparkling Ferragamo clutch. This is how to wear cutouts! LOVE LOVE LOVE the extra long sleeves!
Michelle Williams can go from wrong, wrong wrong to right, right, right in a matter of two shakes of a red carpet! Tonight Michelle was red hot or Coral fabtabulous in her Louis Vuitton gown. Michelle accessorized with Christian Louboutin shoes, a Bottega Venetta clutch, and demure Forevermark and Fred Leighton jewels. Michelle always goes to vintage or youthful silhouettes, colors and accessories that compliment her short crop and doll baby face. Go Michelle!
One of tonight's biggest winners had to be Octavia Spencer. Not only did she show up wearing a fabulous Tadoshi Shoji gown she took home her honors for best supporting actress for her role in "The Help". Her hair was beautifully molded away from her face into a size appropriate simple yet extravagant enough bun/roll. A style I see popular for Spring wedding season.
