American Idol Whitney Houston & Stevie Wonder Night
Tonight the talented girls tackled one my FAVORITE vocalist in music, the late great Miss Whitney Houston.
The girls rule the night with standouts including Erika Van Pelt singing "I Believe In You and Me" and Skylar Laine singing "Where do broken hearts go" but there was a HUGE standout in the end of the night. Jessica Sanchez took the classic penned by the great Dolly Parton and taken to a new standard my miss Whitney Houston and had as Stephen Tyler said "...40 million viewers in tears...". With no disrespect to the lovely, beautiful and talented Jennifer Hudson, but Jessica would have stunned America at the Grammys!
The boys had also a great feat in channeling the musically talented Stevie Wonder's collection of songs.
The boys were very mediocre with one standout in particular Deandre Brackensick singing the jazzy tune "Master Blaster". His showmanship and sweet, soulful voice won him the best male performance of the night. Stevie would have been proud.
Can't wait until next week. I don't know if the show can be topped.
