Summer Makeup: Look Refreshingly Natural Under the Sun

Summer is one of the best seasons for outdoor activity. For a fashionista who never leaves her doorstep without looking like a million bucks from head to toe, not having a melting face becomes problematic. You don’t have to compromise your shine while enjoying the sunshine!

Going To the Beach?

Skip the face cakes of concealers, foundations and powders and opt for a tinted moisturizer with SPF benefits. There are handfuls of brands out there for you to find one that works for you. Some of my favorites are:

Supple, healthy skin has a glow! Another bold beach all over makeup tip is to mix a sheer sunscreen like the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunblock with NYX Body Glitter Gel in Sweet Honey or Silver Lake to look sexy, fun and shimmer in the sun all the while protecting your skin against the harsh rays.

Let Your Eyes Shine Through…Waterproof!

For shadows that don’t wash away, try a primer with a long-lasting eye shadow as a duo. Revlon Color Stay Smokey Shadow Sticks are nicely paired colors that are easy to swipe along the eyelids for a pop of color on the eyes. Try Another great shadow is Amazonian Clay Waterproof Cream Eye shadow, great for long days at the pool, beach or drama for a smoldering summer night date. Don’t forget to follow your eye shadow looks up with waterproof eyeliners and mascaras.

If you truly want your looks to stand the test of time and the season, primer is everything! From eye shadow primers to makeup primers, a little extra step takes your makeup efforts a long way. Some of my absolute favorites are Maybelline Age Rewind Makeup Primer and NYX Studio Perfect Primer. The Maybelline Age Rewind isn’t just for the aging beauty; it is a perfect enhancement for even the most perfect face. The NYX Studio Perfect Primer comes in three shades to combat the simplest of pores and lines, green to fight against redness and rosacea. Use the primers underneath a light mineral powder or bronzer or on the eyelid as a base for your eye shadow as well. HINT: use the colored primers only if you intend on following up with some foundation, cream powders or the like.
